Estimated flight time 2,5h
Difficulty: Easy
Mission: Fly a tour from Edinburgh to Loch Ness and back.
Requirements: For flight variants 3 and 4 the seaplane "D18S CAFNM" is absolutely necessary.
Download this plane here: https://www.rikoooo.com/downloads/viewdownload/343
If the download link does not work, contact me: p3d@andi20.ch
Without D18S seaplane an error message will appear. Just click away and start anyway, you'll get at least half the experience. Flight fails at Inverness!
, you can fly low (under 30 feet), with the door open past the "object" and imagine that you have landed and taken off again....
Introduction
You are in the parking area at Edinburgh Airport.
The flight takes you via Royal Mile, past Loch Lubnaig to Glencoe.
Glencoe is a village in the Glen Coe valley of the same name, Scotland. The village is located in the northwest of the Glen valley, at the mouth of the River Coe into Loch Leven, an inlet of Loch Linnhe near Invercoe. Several well-known films have been shot in Glen Coe or nearby, including Highlander.
From here on it gets exciting, because you fly over Loch Lochy, Loch Oich and Loch Ness, in all 3 Loch's sea monsters are said to live. So keep your eyes open and fly low!
At Inverness you fly south past Loch Leven, back to the Royal Mile.
Land afterwards again in Edinburgh.
This flight is inspired by my last trip to Scotland.
There I experienced exactly this route with a great bus driver and guide (yes, both in one).
I tried to recreate the tour as best I could as a flight.
Fly as low as you want, the lower the more scenic detail you can see, I recommend 1000 feet to start.
Have fun!
Start: You have the choice:
1)Mooney Acclaim
2)You can choose any aircraft.
D18S seaplane installed?
3)At 1732 hole's (lakes) a seaplane might come in handy!
4)Here you will see 3 similar - yes, what? (Emergency rescue included!)
:-) :-] :-}
Take off and fly to the 1st waypoint (WP1 = Royal Mile).
Follow the waypoints (see GPS) and/or use the mission compass.
Shortly after WP2 you can fly heading 270 to the Linlithgow hole. When you reach the hole, a "hole finder" is activated. I have named 35 holes near the tour and written some interesting facts about them.
The hole finder is optional, the mission goal does not depend on it.
Interesting facts about the tour
WP24 = Loch Lochy (over 16km long, about 2km wide, 162m deep): Lizzie is said to live in the loch, a twelve meter long monster that is said to have similarities with Nessie, the Loch Ness monster. So keep your eyes open, maybe you'll see something!
WP25 = Loch Oich (6km long, 460m wide, 47m deep): This hole is said to be home to the sea monster Wee Oichy, a nine-meter-long creature that resembles the Loch Ness monster. It is reported to have black skin, three humps, a snake-like body and a dog or horse-like head.
WP26 = The destination of the trip: Loch Ness (37km long, 1.5km wide, 230m deep): With only 230m water depth, Nessi has a hard time hiding, however, Nessi has been doing it anyway for many years with great success!
I hope you enjoyed this flight, if so please give feedback to p3d@andi20.ch . Also send error messages (spelling mistakes, wrong information, etc.) to p3d@andi20.ch, I appreciate any feedback.
